Preparing college athletes to “Succeed Beyond the Playbook”
The Locker-Room Hubb Foundation is a non-profit organization created to provide an "Elevated Experience" for student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff members of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Our goal is to ensure that our student-athletes and staff have "Success Beyond The Playbook." Our organization provides developmental training and services in the following areas:
-
Professional Development
-
Personal Development
-
Financial Literacy and Financial Management
-
Business Development
-
Entrepreneurship Training & Development
-
Physical Training & Wellness Initiatives
-
Therapeutic Play Therapy & Mental Wellness
-
Partnership Development
In addition to our developmental training programs and services, we also serve as a liaison to connect local communities, organizations and businesses with local HBCUs in its neighboring communities. In this liaison role, we also create partnerships and mentoring opportunities by connecting former athletes to current student-athletes in an effort to give back and support our current students, coaches and athletic staff.

PLAY THERAPY INITIATIVE
As a part of our “Play Therapy” initiative, the LockerRoom HUBB Foundation sponsored a “first pitch” event at the Mississippi Braves game for the Alcorn State University football coaching staff and families. Alcorn State Head Football Coach, Cedric Thomas, was granted the opportunity to throw the first pitch representing ASU in an incredible fashion.
Play therapy allowed the coaches and families to enjoy amazing food, fellowship and the Mississippi summer breeze creating an atmosphere of relaxation and rejuvenation.
